TOUR 1. TRASTEVERE
Trastevere, alias ‘Trans Tiberim‘, was the Roman district of foreigners and freed slaves which preserves, better than others, its medieval temperament and street plan.
Our selection of Trastevere includes the first sinagogue of Rome, the smallest bell tower of Rome, the barracks of the 7th Coohors (Brigade) of firefighters, the church of St. Cecilia with its fascinating underground remains of a Roman domus (where Cecilia met her martyrdom), St. Maria in Trastevere, charming medieval house.
